The 40th Celebration

In 1972 a suggestion was put forward by members of the Rangiora and Belfast - Kaiapoi Rotary Clubs… “Why not build a tin shed somewhere up in the mountains where our local high school kids can experience the high country of Canterbury.” 6 years later the Boyle River Outdoor Education Centre was opened.

This October we will be celebrating 40 years of developing outdoor education and recreation programmes for the youth of Canterbury.

Our mission is to provide opportunities for physical activity and personal and social development utilising the facilitation of adventure activities and the outdoor environment.

To celebrate this milestone we are holding a dinner function in Rangiora followed by a weekend of adventure at the Boyle River this coming Labour Weekend.  See below for registration.
