About The Event

The Gold Adventurous Journey is a cornerstone of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and represents a significant step forward in both challenge and personal growth. At this level, the focus shifts from simply completing a journey to developing meaningful outdoor capability, strong team dynamics, and a lasting appreciation for the natural environment.
Participants work in small, self-reliant teams to plan and undertake a multi-day journey in a natural environment. This process places a strong emphasis on preparation, decision-making, and collaboration, encouraging participants to step outside their comfort zones while building confidence, resilience, and independence. The journey itself is not solely about physical challenge; it is equally about shared experience, problem-solving, and learning to work effectively as a team in the outdoors.
