SUPPORT WINSTON'S JOURNEY

Sand, Sun, and Sweat in the Sahara Desert!

image.png

Winston Cowie is taking on the legendary Marathon des Sables — running the equivalent of seven marathons in seven days across the Sahara Desert — to raise funds for the Boyle River Outdoor Education Centre.

This is a unique opportunity for our community of supporters, families, and friends of the Boyle to be part of something truly meaningful.

Winston — a proud Kiwi, international rugby player, father, conservationist, filmmaker, and author — is stepping up in support of outdoor education. Now, we’re inviting you to stand alongside him.

Why This Matters

Outdoor education has a lasting impact on young people. Time spent at the Boyle helps students build resilience, confidence, teamwork, and leadership — skills that stay with them for life.

For many, these experiences are transformational.

But with rising costs, some students risk missing out. Your support helps ensure that every young person, regardless of their circumstances, has the chance to experience the outdoors in a safe and supportive environment.

The Difference You Can Make

We are working hard to reduce costs for schools and families — particularly by helping fund transport and food.

  • A return bus trip can cost up to $3,000

  • Supporting transport can enable an entire group of students to attend camp

  • Every contribution, big or small, helps remove barriers

Your donation has a direct and tangible impact on getting young people to the Boyle.

How You Can Help

  • Make a donation of any size

  • Contribute towards transport costs
