Funding

“We are a user-pays operation with additional support from the community. Over the years the Trust has been supported by groups such as The Canterbury Community Trust, the Lotteries Board, the Keith Laugesen Trust, the R.J. McKenzie Trust, the EB Millton Trust, Macpac, the Belfast, Rangiora and Kaiapoi Rotary club members, and the Rangiora and Kaiapoi parent teacher associations,” says trustee Arthur Sutherland.

The Centre Manager, Assistant Manager and operational costs are met by schools paying the accommodation charge. This is usually passed onto parents. The school and/or parents also meet the cost of the food and transport.

The schools meet the cost of the Boyle instructors in a variety of ways:
• Some utilise their Ministry of Education-provided staffing allocation
• Some use their operational funding
• Some fund raise
• Some charge their parents
• While some use a mix of these methods.
