School Courses The Boyle provides many options for your students to experience an ABL outdoor activity course at our wonderful facility.
THE BOYLE AND YOUR SCHOOL IN PARTNERSHIP
An outdoor education and adventure based learning experience over four or five days where the Boyle provides the instructors/facilitators on a 1:10 student ratio, the facilities and a programme negotiated with you to achieve your aims and objectives. Equipment and outdoor clothing are also provided. The School provides transport, food, gear lists, supervisory staff and may provide teachers for instruction provided they are qualified, current and meet the Boyle Standard.
THE TOTAL PACKAGE
An outdoor education and adventure based learning experience over four or five days where the Boyle provides an opportunity to gain Unit Standard Credits. Instruction and facilitation, food, equipment, clothing, programme, transport, Learning Journals, and gear lists are all provided by the Boyle. Users provide one adult per twenty students in a Lodge Supervisory role.
Boyle Run Courses:
AREA SCHOOL CAMP
The Boyle organises an annual camp for students from Area Schools. This provides an opportunity for smaller schools to combine and send their Year 10 students on a residential and social experience in the outdoors.
ADVENTURE BASED LEARNING /POTENTIAL LEADERS COURSES (FUNDED BY S.T.A.R)
Courses for Senior students interested in finding out about the world of the Outdoor Instructor. An introduction to a career in the outdoors including the opportunity to gain Unit Standard Credits. Adventure Based Learning course focus on personal and social learning. Potential Leaders courses focus on leadership training and communication skills. Both are full of exciting outdoor activities!
Two options are available: 1) Students can be transported to and from the Boyle, fed, clothed for the wet and cold (when necessary), accommodated and provided with a great experience. They join students from a number of schools. 2) A school books the Centre, organises transport and food while the Boyle provides everything else.

UNIT STANDARDS
The Boyle has an offsite agreement with Kaiapoi High School to deliver programmes and assess against a range of outdoor unit standards.
TRAINEE INSTRUCTOR COURSE:
This is a year long course in the outdoors working along side qualified
and experienced outdoor instructors. Students experience the best that any
education system can offer. That is, one-on-one coaching, mentoring,
immediate feedback, and experiential learning. Truly a great course if your looking at a career in the outdoors.
