Area Schools Camp
THE CAMP IS FOR

Secondary school students at Year 10 currently
at an Area School, who will benefit from an active Adventure Based
Learning (ABL) and outdoor pursuits programme
THE CAMP AIMS TO
.

develop communication skills, teamwork and a
feeling of self worth
develop self-confidence, initiative and self reliance
teach outdoor skills in a variety of activities
provide fun and exciting experiences in the outdoors
provide an opportunity to gain leadership skills useful as students move
to their
NCEA years.
provide a residential experience that encourages
independence and a chance to mix
with students from other Area schools
THE SCHOOL WILL
.
advertise the course around the school and
select student participants
arrange transport for students to the Boyle
provide a staff member or suitable adult to accompany the
group and act as a
supervisor
send the payment and the enclosed Enrolment/Medical Form to the Manager
THE BOYLE WILL
.
provide course information and a gear list
receipt/invoice the school if required
provide food, accommodation, high quality facilitation,
equipment and specialist
clothing
THE PROGRAMME
Participants will be divided into activity
groups of about 10 students. The 5 day programme will include a selection
of activities from the list below depending on the weather and ability of
the students.
Students identified as potential leaders by their schools will work
together as a group.
