Our StaffThe Boyle is staffed by a Manager, Assistant Manager and Full-time Instructor. There are part-time administration and maintenance staff as well as two Trainee Instructors who live on site as part of the Cadet Course. For most of our courses we employ a number of experienced contract instructors, many having a history with the Boyle, either through prior employment or having trained here as part of the Cadet Course.

Wendy - Manager Wendy first came to the Boyle as an instructor in 2001. She later moved into the Assistant Manager role and from there became the Centre Manager in 2002. Wendy came to New Zealand from the UK where she taught P.E and Outdoor Education. She was involved with the Duke of Edinburgh Award in schools and instructed on adult training courses at an outdoor centre in Wales. She has a passion for mountain biking and tramping and is an active member of the Hanmer Springs Mountain Bike Club. David - Assistant Manager. David has a been working in the outdoors for many years, coming to the Boyle after working in the UK outdoor industry for many years. His primary job focus is the Boyle's safety practices and he works hard to ensure that everything is first rate. He enjoys mountaineering, biking and exploring the local and worldwide environments. Michelle - Senior Instructor Michelle has been a familiar face around the Boyle for a number of years now and her experience with the site and programmes form an important part of the Boyle's training and support of staff. She has been part-time since her lovely daughter came along, but still plays a valuable part in the life of the Boyle. Jonathan - Maintenance & Mr Fix-it Jonathan has been at the Boyle for a few years now and his work has made a big improvement to the living conditions and grounds of the Lodge. He comes with his ex-farmer's ability to fix anything with No 8 wire! He is equally happy indoors or out in the bush. Kay - Office Administrator Kay joined the team this year. Her calm organisation in the office supports the rest of us so we can get outside! |
